A note from CEO and Founder, Hugo Kimber Celebrating 13 years of Carbon Respinsible:
As a corporate teenager we have come along way from our early toddler phase, to be a fast evolving business supported by a great team and we are fortunate to work with some great clients. We are very grateful to all our clients who have chosen us and trusted us to do the best for them over the last 13 years.
When I founded Carbon Responsible, we specialised predominantly in data, supporting companies to automatically measure carbon emissions via API links and uploads, supported by a variety of bespoke databases, built to deliver high accuracy in emissions measurement, enable reduction planning/actions and go beyond the average conversions available to clients.
We have never strayed from a focus on high quality data, supported by expert advisory, to deliver actionable intelligence and reduced corporate risk for our clients in climate disclosures. Our ability to be the audit quality accounting and data specialist we are today, has been a continued adherence to the principle of high quality over expediency.
Our focus has always been carbon centric, not because we think it’s the only important part of broader sustainability, but one that is clearly a key challenge with constant evolution of accounting standards, data evolution and reporting frameworks. Lots to keep up with, so we stay in our lane.
We avoided the noise and excitement, plus large revenue streams that comprise carbon offset sales to retain our independence of measurement and accounting, as well as to avoid downstream disappointment for our clients by selling products with poor standards and uncertain outcomes.
There have been plenty of challenges, nearly existential in the case of Covid, but we have emerged from each challenge stronger than we went into it.
In the last few years the market has evolved and expanded exponentially with new services and providers. We have continued to focus on high quality in the belief that the market would mature and drive an increased flight to quality. This is very much what we see now in the requirements from new clients.
The last year has seen considerable change for us with new branding, new website, new offices, new clients, new staff, new products and even a podcast. All very exciting and I expect our 14th year will be one of continued expansion and development.
Our forthcoming data product for Scope 3 reporting and analysis, follows in the wake of many such leading products we have built over the years, to meet evolving demands and challenges. It evidences our ability to remain at the forefront of data excellence and optimal outcomes for our clients.
We are now one of the oldest independent companies in our sector, using our accumulated breadth of experience to confidently look into the future, to ensure our clients can manage the demands they have today and tomorrow.
