Hugo founded Carbon Responsible in 2012 and his experience in carbon reporting and management began in 2006. He has delivered award-winning technology solutions for reporting of emissions and developed the world’s most advanced global emissions reporting tool.

His career as both an Executive Chairman and CEO in leisure and technology businesses has seen him successfully develop, transform and build companies to deliver shareholder value through a focused approach to converting vision into action.

Matt has over 10 years of professional experience, beginning his career at Accenture helping to deliver large-scale, transformational change. Matt moved into the sustainability sector in 2014 to work at the Clinton Foundation and in that time consulted with Fortune Global 100s, NGOs, Think Tanks and numerous governments on developing and implementing robust Corporate Social Responsibility programmes. Many don't know that Matt launched a start-up focused on creating novel polymer-based yarns out of macroalgae. He possesses two masters: one in Economic History from the LSE and a second in Climate Change Management from Imperial College. Matt is a classical musician and avid baker.

Arthur manages the data team at Carbon Responsible, who specialises in working with large and complex datasets to generate insights, analytics, and bespoke product analyses. His primary focus is overseeing the design, development, and maintenance of our tech products that help our clients to stay ahead of the curve with robust carbon emissions reporting and setting achievable emissions reduction pathways. Arthur holds an MSci in Physics, and outside of work enjoys playing music, arts & design, & urban horticulture.

Ciara leads client projects to enable measurement, reporting and management of carbon impact. She specializes particularly in Scope 3 accounting. Ciara possesses an MSc in Aquatic Conservation, Ecology & Restoration, with a focus on public engagement with conservation, and science communication. Ciara has worked on European citizen science projects and on a variety of factual TV productions. Outside of work, Ciara likes getting out on the water with her SUP and dabbling in art, gardening, and film photography.

Emma assists clients in the collection of their operational activity data and analyses that data to produce emissions reports. She also helps clients define and achieve their emissions reduction targets. Additionally, Emma is keenly interested in helping clients identify climate-related physical risks that their business might be facing in the short and long term, following TCFD’s framework. Emma possesses an MSc in Mathematical Modelling (Climate Science), with a focus on computational fluid dynamics of the atmosphere and the oceans. In her spare time, Emma can be found enjoying the outdoors, participating in sports and exploring new travel destinations.

James is passionate about engaging and influencing stakeholders to drive positive change—for clients, the planet, and society as a whole. With a solid foundation in buy-side compliance and regulation, and experience as a Big 4 consultant, brings real-world solutions that add tangible value to businesses. James leads the Carbon Responsible's Data and Carbon Accounting Teams to bring market leading tools and advisory services to clients.

Octavia provides custom technical and data-focused support for our clients and the Carbon Responsible team. She is involved in solving complex, or unique emissions reporting challenges for large-scale clients. Her work also supports client emissions reduction target setting (including SBTi targets), assessing their reduction strategy, and leading the development of a target-setting model. Additionally, her role also includes developing and enhancing our internal processes through the automation of data processing. Octavia holds an MSc in Natural Sciences (Earth Sciences), and enjoys playing piano, synths and tennis in her spare time.
